The Heart of a Child
Yesterday Tyler was playing quietly in his room when I heard him pray this:
"Dear Lord, Thank you for all these toys-especially these bad guys who are about to destroy the world. In Jesus' name, Amen."
LOVE. THAT. KID.

Kids Say...
Kids really do say some of the funniest things. Here is a recent sampling of the craziness from our house.
"Let's ammonize (analyze) this specimen." -Tyler, age 4
"Mommy, why you not have no friends?" -Jackson, age 2
"Why is Daddy turning into an old man?" -Tyler
"Look! Shrek's belly is fat just like yours. Is Shrek going to have a baby too?" -Tyler
"Why are you cleaning? Is somebody coming over?" -Tyler
"God made everything. Even Coke. So it's okay if we drink it." -Tyler
"You wanna see my bottom?" -Jackson
"You're not a girl! You're just a mommy." -Jackson
"Are you going to be a senior citizen on your next birthday?" -Tyler
"You have to keep me warm. That's your job." -Tyler
"Mom, we need to get Lifelock." -Tyler
"I don't like vegamuls (vegetables)." -Jackson
"You cooking? Oh, thank you so much!" -Jackson
"Were there dinosaurs when you were a little girl?" -Tyler
"Let me speak this in your ear. Try to understand." -Tyler
Well, hopefully you got a little chuckle out of my kiddos. I know they crack me up, but it could possibly be because I need more adult interaction. =)

My Most Embarassing Moment Ever
Hey ya'll! Life's been busy 'round here. I haven't had much time for blogging. Today we are having new carpet installed, so I have a little time to sit and tell you this funny story that happened yesterday. At this point, any man that I know in real life should stop reading. =)
Okay, I have been cleaning out my closets and really getting rid of stuff I don't wear. Most of it has been donated, but I had some things that only a lady would wear so I just threw it away...who would want it used anyway?
Anyway, yesterday afternoon I had a knock on the door. It was the cable guy because there were some problems with service in the neighborhood and he was just checking to see if everything was okay.
Well, there is a dog (or something) that keeps getting into the trash. When I opened the door, there was that bag of stuff strewn all over the yard and right on the door step where he was standing was a bright red, totally unmistakable *lady thing*!!!!!
You should have seen the look on his face and I'm sure mine was blood red for about the next hour!!
Seriously, I was humiliated!!!!!!!!!
Anybody else want to share an embarassing moment and make me feel better?

Conversations With Tyler
Tyler: Mommy, I need to go to the dentist.
Me: What's wrong, buddy?
Tyler: My tooth has jungle fever.
Me: Laughing hysterically
I really do not know where that child of mine comes up with some of the stuff he says. =)

A Most Unwelcome Guest
I recently discovered that this had been hiding out in our house, only after he/she/it ran across my foot while I was doing laundry! Yuck!!! We blamed the poor cat on this nasty rodent's antics--eating a bag of food in 2 days, leaving little "presents" around the house, knocking the trash over, making all kinds of noise in the night. We wondered why the cat kept hiding under the sink and running outside every chance she got.
I found it at about 11:30 one night, and we ended up having to call some friends over around midnight to help us extract the thing.
I might also mention that all this happened the night after I had to kill a snake in the driveway by myself. I think I am done living the country life. =)
Isn't she a beauty??

A Quick Funny
Where in the world have I been??
We went out of town for a week, and are now trying to recover from sickness and get adjusted to being home again. Hopefully in a few days when I have regained control over the laundry pile and the children, I will have some pictures to share with you from our trip. Until then, I'll leave you with this little tantrum-filled moment we just experienced...
Tyler will be 3 in October. And he still nurses. A lot. He doesn't need the nutrition any more. He eats and drinks when he is hungry or thirsty. Nursing for him is a habit, and it has become a bad one. I am working on weaning him. I have been trying to wean him since he turned one, but obviously not too successfully. So anyway, today he was asking (demanding) for it and I told him no. He immediately began crying. I told him to stop crying and go play or he had to go to his room. His response..."You gimme boo-boo (nurse him) or I call police man on you!" LOL!! I don't know where the kids gets it from. =)

Hubby Said "No!" =(
I found this on a local online ad service. Unfortunately, hubby was not interested. He has since taken to making fun of me about it. =) I personally think it sounds like a wonderful pet and also a frugal investment. We would no longer need our alarm clocks with a rooster around. I'm sure the neighbors would thank us as well.
WANTED: Good home for purebred special needs houdan rooster
We have a beautiful purebred houdan rooster. He is about one year old. He was
stepped on when he was little and his leg was broken. He gets around fine, but
doesn't use his leg much. He is very healthy and robust....for pet only.....not
for eating!!!!

A Good Laugh
This is from the Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge, TN. We went there once and Keith was pulled up on stage to be a back-up dancer. It was hillarious!

Confession Time
It's good to get it all out in the open and confess your shortcomings to the world every once in a while. So here goes:
The only reason I got dressed and cleaned up the house today is because we were having company. Otherwise, I would totally still be in my new comfy PJs being lazy.
So, don't make me be the only one. You got anything you want to confess? (Isn't that last sentence just the best use of the English language you've heard all day?)

The Mind of Eight Year Old
This past Sunday our pastor preached on Moses and the burning bush. Every time I hear this story mentioned it reminds me of my first day of fourth grade. Each year on the first day of school the teacher would tell us a little bit about herself and then I'm sure we would all take turns telling something about ourselves too. Our teacher introduced herself, told us about her family, and also said that she went to Burning Bush Baptist Church.
Later that evening, my mom was asking us about our day and about our new teachers. I told her my teacher's name and whatever else I could remember, and also that she went to Burnt Leaf Baptist Church. Burnt Leaf, Burning Bush-it was all the same to me.

A Real 'Duh' Moment
They say you lose brain cells during pregnancy. I wouldn't argue. There are days when I feel like my brain has exited my body. Yesterday was one of those days.
I have been having trouble with our internet connection since we got home. I have tried shutting down and restarting, resetting the modem, and all that other good stuff. None of it seemed to help so I decided I would call Comcast and see if they happened to know what was going on. So I called, entered all my information on the keypad (which they asked me for yet again as soon as I was actually connected to a human-5 minutes later), and waited. When the nice lady (really, she was very nice) picked up she asked me what was going on and I told her. She apologized and asked me if I had already checked the obvious, and then tried to help me. She asked me to confirm the phone number on the account. I gave it to her and she couldn't pull the account up. I could not figure out why. We only have one number and I knew that was it. She asked if I had a bill nearby with an account number on it. I knew I did so I started looking through the bills. I found it! As I searched for my Comcast account number on my Charter bill it suddenly hit me...
"I'll call you right back."
It probably helps if you call the right company!

A Little Man Funny
This morning as I was changing Boo's diaper I asked him if he was Momma's stinky little boy.
He said "yeees" and started laughing.
Oh well, it was funny to me.

Funny Names
I love to name my future kids in my head. To me it's just really fun to think of really cute name combos. There are also a few names that I would never name my kids for one reason or another. For instance, I would never name my daughter Taylor because what if she fell in love and wanted to marry somebody whose last name was Taylor. Other names that I like I could never name my kids simply because they remind me of somebody.
I used to tell my husband that if we had twin girls I wanted to name them Joy Unspeakable and Fulla Glory. We would call them Joy and Glory of course. Also, if we ever had twin boys my husband wants to name them either Mason and Dixon or Hunter and Fisher.
My mom went to school with two girls who had really funny names. One was Mada Stelle and the other was Anita Mann. True story. My friend whose sister used to teach at Hyles-Anderson had a girl in her class once named Turna Round. I also, first hand, know of a lady named Female (pronounced Fe-mall-e). I heard it was because her mother thought the hospital had already named her when they put Female whatever the last name was on the crib at the nursery. I'm not sure if that's true or not though. Keith went to school with a guy whose last name was Hunt. He said he would make his 1st kid's middle name Easter Egg. Don't know if that actually happened or not though.
So what about you. Are there any funny names you've heard of or is there anything you definitely would not name one of your kids?

Little Stinker
Last night I asked Tyler if he wanted to do something. He said "essss" (translated, yes). I said, say "yes momma". He said "essss dada" with his big toothy, cheesy smile and then started laughing. He is such a little stinker.
