Heavy Hearted

If you have time, please read this article and pray for this woman and her family. They need healing that only God can bring! (Warning: there is one curse word in this article.)

Basically, this is a woman who has gone from being sold out for God to atheist...and is taking her children with her.

My heart is so heavy and burdened after reading this article. I will not continue reading, although part of me wants to. I read some of the comments before it became too much. My heart hurts at the amount of hate there is in the world for God and His people. I will petition God on her behalf, will you?

Hubby Said "No!" =(

I found this on a local online ad service. Unfortunately, hubby was not interested. He has since taken to making fun of me about it. =) I personally think it sounds like a wonderful pet and also a frugal investment. We would no longer need our alarm clocks with a rooster around. I'm sure the neighbors would thank us as well.

WANTED: Good home for purebred special needs houdan rooster
We have a beautiful purebred houdan rooster. He is about one year old. He was
stepped on when he was little and his leg was broken. He gets around fine, but
doesn't use his leg much. He is very healthy and robust....for pet only.....not
for eating!!!!

I'm Sorry, What Did You Say? I Don't Think I Heard You Correctly.

This is our current 7 Day forecast courtesy of KCTV 5. If you'll notice on Friday and Saturday, that is snow. And according to what my hubby heard, it is potentially a lot of snow. He said he heard it could be up to 15 inches!
I'm sorry, but since it is now officially spring I can no longer accept snow. Thank you! =)

I spent most of my day...

Along with about 70,000 other children who must have been on spring break. (I will be sure to not make that mistake again.)

Our van needed some maintenance that took several hours, and the dealership was nice enough to shuttle me and the kids over so we didn't have to wait in the lobby. That was very nice of them, I thought.

Tyler loved it! I. am. exhausted.

Pride

My Name is Pride, I am a cheater.

I cheat you on your God given destiny....because
you demand your own way.

I cheat you of contentment...because you
"deserve better than this."

I cheat you of knowledge...because you already
know it all.

I cheat you of holiness...because you refuse to
admit when your wrong.

I cheat you of vision...because you would rather look
in the mirror than out the window.

I cheat you of genuine friendship...because
nobody is going to know the real you.

I cheat you of love...because real romance
demands sacrifice.

I cheat you of greatness in heaven...because you
refuse to wash another's feet on earth.

I cheat you of God's glory...because I convince
you to seek your own.

My name is Pride, I am a cheater.

You like me because you think I'm always looking
out for you. Untrue.

I'm looking to make a fool of you,
God has so much for you, I admit, but don't worry...

If you stick with me
You'll never know.

$0.25 Customizable Art

I've been in a crafty mood here lately, so I thought I would share one of my ultra-frugal creations with you. I just did this as a trial to see how I liked it. I really like the way it turned out and will probably make another one soon.

All I did was purchase an old picture frame at the thrift store for 25 cents, used some old paint brushes and acrylic paint I had laying around from other projects, and some leftover fabric for the "ribbon".

Here's the very simplified "How To" in case you want to try it for yourself.

1) Play around with the wording and font in Word until you get it the way you like it. I used Paint and then printed it out in a mirror image.

2) Place glass from frame on top of printed wording, centered.

3) Trace (paint) wording using acrylic craft paint. Depending on the quality of paint, you may need 2 coats.

4) Allow to dry and then place in frame.

Voila!

I will probably add some fabric or a nice piece of scrapbook paper to the back if I find some I like. If I do that, the total cost would probably be about $1.00. But it also looks nice the way it is.

This would be a great way to use old picture frames that you aren't currently using.

Please Excuse Me...

While I tend to my sick children. I hope to be back posting regularly soon. I have lots to share...

Praying that you all have a blessed week. =)

My First Giveaway! Woohoo!!

***Giveaway ends at 9:00 PM CST tonight! Winner will be announced shortly thereafter***

Since I have won a couple of really nice giveaways recently, I have decided to host my own. Since this is my first one and I really don't know what I'm doing, I'm sure I will make a mistake somewhere along the way. But that's okay. Let's just have fun with it.

So, on to the fun part...

I am giving away a $15 Gift Card to the store of your choosing (as long as I can order it online or purchase it locally. i.e. Walmart, Walgreens, Target, Starbucks).

This giveaway is open to anyone. Anywhere. As long as you have a mailbox. =)There are a few ways to enter.

1. Leave me a comment with either a link to your blog or your email address. (You do not have to have a blog to enter.) Just for fun, tell me where you would want your giftcard from and what you would buy.

2. Post a link to this giveaway on your blog for another entry.

3. Tell me something that we have in common that you learned from reading my blog.

Please, if you are going to do more than one of these-Leave me a separate comment for each one.

I will announce the winner on Monday, March 9th.

Modest, Affordable, Frump-Free Clothes?!?! Can It Be???

I recently discovered Bellissima Modesty Boutique thanks to Crystal at Biblical Womanhood. I decided to take a look around their site and see what they had. I was very pleasantly surprised! The clothes are feminine, cute, modest, and very affordable. I find it very difficult these days to find clothes that are more than one of those things, let alone all of them! If you are looking to add a few cute pieces to your wardrobe without breaking the bank, then you should definitely check them out. The skirt in the picture above was $18 (I think) and one of the more expensive items on the site.

So, where are some of your favorite places to shop?

Giveaway Treasures and Paying It Forward

Remember this giveaway that I won? Well, this is what I chose and I love it! I took your advise and mounted it on something so we could take it with us when we move. I love it and can't wait to hang it up. (hint, hint honey)

I also won another giveaway over at By His Grace. She was giving away one of these wonderful candles from Adair Ya. I chose Island Interlude and it smells wonderful!

I promise I do not spend all day entering contests and giveaways. ;D However, I have won a few over the years and have decided it is time to pay it forward. So, here is where I need your help. What would be your favorite thing to win---keeping in mind I'm not rich? Something unique? Handmade? Practical? Giftcards? Let me know. I plan on hosting a giveaway (or maybe 2) later on this week.
