Welcome Winter

A roaring fire, some Christmas lights, a cup of hot chocolate, and my three favorite guys to cuddle. What could be better on a cold winter day?

The Only Christmas Present I Have Bought So Far

I must confess-I have none of my Christmas shopping done. What can I say? I'm a slacker!

However, I did just now order this adorable bedding set for my little Cowboy Tyler. Isn't it so cute?? I can't wait to get it. And bless his poor little man-child heart, he has been sleeping on a pink floral bedding set. Yeah, I think it's time to make his space a little more manly.

I'm not so sure how it's going to look with pale blue walls, so I guess painting will be the next step. I will definitely post pictures once I get it all in place.

Chocolate Mint Cake Balls

1 boxed chocolate cake mix
1 container chocolate frosting
1 tsp mint extract
1 package chocolate almond bark

Cook cake according to package directions. Let cool then crumble into large bowl. Combine frosting and mint extract. Add to cake and mix well. Form into round balls and place on cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Place in freezer for 1 hour. When balls are frozen, melt almond bark and dip balls in to coat. Remove and cool on wax paper. Store covered in refrigerator.

These are soooo good and so addictive.

Playing With Fire

The next time you need to light several candles at once, try this trick. Light one end of a piece of spaghetti and use that to light your candles. This also works great for lighting jar candles and fires in the fireplace when you don't have one of those lighters with a long tip, and keeps you from getting your fingers singed in the process. I needed to buy a new lighter the other day. One of those fancy candle lighters was $2.67, but I was able to get an 8 pack of regular lighters for $1.85. Yay for saving money!

Thankfulness Tag

I've been tagged to list ten things I am thankful for and then tag five other bloggers. Thanks, Jesnicole!

In no particular order:

10. Lazy days with my hubby. He works so hard and is away from home so much that it is nice to just lay around and be lazy together when we have the chance.

9. Coupons! I love coupons.

8. Veggie Tales. The only way I get housework done sometimes. =)

7. Friends. Real, true, genuine friends. None of that highschool mentality. Who needs the drama?

6. Online Recipe Sites. You don't know how often I search recipe sites for new ideas. Without them, I would have to pay $4 for those little cookbooks that I usually only want one recipe out of.

5. Internet. I love the ease of using the 'net for keeping in touch with friends and family all throughout the world.

4. Walgreens. Do you know how much free stuff you can get from Walgreens each month?? If not, you really should check out this blog.

3. Craigslist. It's like ebay, only free to use. I have sold so much stuff using Craigslist. Just today we sold our old dishwasher on Craigslist.

2. Bloglines. I love being able to keep up with all the blogs I love without having to visit each one to check for updates.

1. God. His goodness is beyond words! Praise Him!

Okay, I now tag:
Shannon (my aunt)
Jenny P
Becky
Kimberly

And anyone else who would like to participate. =)

Guess Who's Coming To My House Tomorrow

These beauties!

Monday night my sweet, handsome, hard-working hubby took me to pick them out. Lowe's was having a really good sale and plus we were needing to replace our appliances anyway. We are hoping these will be an asset when we go to sell our house as well.

After spending all that money, our nerves were a little frazzled so hubby took us to DQ for a nice soothing Blizzard to calm us down. =)

We've Got Spirit, Yes We Do!

I know football season is over, but we decided to show a little team spirit yesterday anyway.

Here we have Tyler in his Kingston Yellow Jackets t-shirt (or, his "bee shirt" as he calls it) and coordinating orange and white diaper.
Jackson went the all Vol route. He even had his orange diaper on.
Yes folks, we are that silly. It helps pass the time until we one day return to our beloved state...maybe.

Thanksgiving Pictures

This past week my Daddy and his wife came to visit us for Thanksgiving. It was so nice having family here for the holidays. We had such a good time, especially the boys.

I think they got a little nervous when it started snowing the night before they were supposed to leave.

All full of turkey and ready for bed.

AAFES Double Coupon Mondays

I saw a sign at the entrance to the BX a few days ago that said Mondays are now "Double Coupon Mondays" at AAFES. They will double coupons up to $1.00. That makes for some potentially good deals. I'm not sure if this is every facility or not, or how long it will last, but it is definitely worth checking out. I'd be interested to know if anybody else's BX/PX is doing this also.
