A Little Preggy Update

What? Two blog posts in one day? I'm a blogging fool, what can I say?

I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. It was basically the usual drive the 20 minutes over there, wait 15 minutes to get called back, blood pressure, weight, urine sample, wait 20 minutes for the doctor come in, 2 minutes of actual "baby business" and out the door. She did order a non-stress test this time to check on baby and those nasty contractions I've been having for, oh, a month now. That went well. Baby seemed to be reacting well during the contractions and the good news was that they are actually doing some good. I was 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced...which is more than I was when I went into labor with Boy #1. Woohoo!

I was starting to get excited about all the progress I was making, but now I think I have hit a wall with my optimism. I have reached the "This baby is never going to come out" stage, which is really silly because in my head I know that one way or another he will be here in less than 3 weeks.

Oh, and I guess I'll let the cat out of the bag a little on baby's name. I have been keeping it to myself on purpose because of a bad experience I had while pregnant with Tyler. (That's another story for another day though.) So, brace yourselves...here it comes...the baby's name will be Daniel something. The "something" will be what we actually call him. We had agreed on our boy's name at the beginning of this pregnancy and I was fine with it until a few weeks ago. Now I'm not so sure. The same thing happened when I was pregnant with Tyler and we did actually end up changing his name (after he was born) from Tyler Elijah to Samuel Tyler. Also another story for another day. So we shall see with this one. Stick with what we had, or let the hormonal preggo change her mind a dozen times between now and then?

I had to throw this picture in, just for the sake of keeping it real. Y'all, I do not typically have what you would call a petite nose...but this thing looks like it's having triplets! Every time somebody comments on how I'm "all belly" I kinda chuckle. I think at least a pound of it is in my nose too. :)

Well, I'm off to have some bison kabobs for dinner. Doesn't that sound interesting??

September In Pictures

Did you all miss all my pictures? We've been having some technical difficulties with our old camera and had to buy a new one. Bummer. But anyway, we're back in action now...just in time for our new arrival. Which is, by the way, probably the only reason I gave into buying a new camera. Can't miss those newborn shots.

Still Alive, Still Pregnant

Just really, really tired. I have a few things to blog about and a few pictures to share now that we have a new camera that actually works. I'll try to get those posted in the next few days.

Love you all!

Teething, Sneezing, Contracting, Nesting, and Praising

Life seems to be in somewhat of a whirlwind state these days. I spend most of my time making sure the necessities are taken care of, and that's about it. My head is spinning with things I need to do, but by the time I go to do something I forget what I was going to do. We've all been there, right? Lists have become my friend here lately. Without them I don't think anything would get accomplished.

Here's a little jumbled bloggy slop for your reading pleasure.

-Teething. The boy is getting 4 teeth right now and he is definitely having a hard time with these. Teething in the past hasn't been too terrible, but this time it really seems to be bothering him. He is not eating or sleeping well, and is just all around much more cranky than normal.

-Sneezing. Tyler and Keith are both getting a cold. Poor babies. I hope I don't get it. I didn't remember this until they started getting sick, but I got a really bad cold right before Tyler was born which made it so hard to breathe. I remember thinking there was no way I would be able to have a baby while I was that sick. I got over it just in time though.

-Contracting. Oh yes I am. A lot. And it hurts. Every night since Sunday I have been having contractions that last anywhere from an hour to three hours, but then they go away on their own. I didn't have any contractions with Tyler until I was actually in labor. Oh, I forgot how bad they can hurt.

-Nesting. Yeah, me again. Yesterday I was working like a mad woman on non-essential projects. Things like getting the baby's room straightened, cleaning everything I could reach, baking and freezing, etc. Sounds like nesting to me.

-Praising. This is a big one!! In my last post I mentioned that Tyler needed surgery and that the insurance wasn't going to pay for it. Well, we got a call this morning saying that his surgery had been approved. Thank you LORD! His surgery is scheduled for October 24th. Now, of course, I am nervous about my baby having surgery. I know God will protect him though.

The Boys Went to The Doctor

It sounds funny to say boys---plural. But, I guess it's to that point. Yay! I'm so excited to have 2 boys.

Anyway, both of my little fellows had doctors appointments this week. I had a prenatal appointment on Wednesday and Tyler went to the dentist on Thursday.

My appointment went well. I have gained 18 pounds so far, my blood pressure was good, and baby was measuring just right. He is also head down and ready to go. The only concern was that his heartrate was a little lower than normal, but still within a "normal" range. So, all in all it was a good appointment. I am really looking forward to meeting my new little man, and also losing the bowling-ball-in-my-ribs feeling.

Now, on to the not as good part...Tyler finally went to the dentist yesterday. If you remember, he was supposed to go on Aug. 19th, but we got a call that morning saying that the doctor was out sick and they would call to reschedule. The next morning was when we left for TN and the next two weeks were sort of a blur. When we got home I realized they never called to reschedule, so I called them. Turns out the dentist had to have surgery (I hope he's okay) and won't be back till some time in October. They referred me to another doctor who was able to get us in yesterday.

Anybody who has seen Tyler's teeth knows that he has decay. It's pretty obvious. (Yes, I know. I will not be getting nominated for Mom of the Year. How did I let my baby get tooth decay? Anyway.) The solution? Surgery. $10,000 worth of surgery that our insurance company more than likely will not pay for. So now we are making phone calls to the insurance company, as is the dentist, praying that they will approve his surgery. If not, I'm not sure what we will do. So if you think of it and feel so inclined, say a little prayer. Would ya?

Let's end on a happy note, shall we? I am going on a real, bona fide date with my hubby tonight. Monday was his birthday. This will be our first real date since Tyler was born. Wow! I'm excited.

Y'all have a great weekend.
