Thank You

We're home. Thank you all for your prayers while we were gone. We are very tired, as you can imagine. I will post more later.

Quick Update

Hello all. I just wanted to give you all a quick update and say thank you all for your prayers. My step-dad did pass away early Thursday morning shortly after we got to the hospital. The funeral was Saturday. Please continue to remember my mom in your prayers as she gets through this. We will be here for a few more days helping her out as best as we can.

See you soon!

Heading Out

We are leaving for Tennessee now. Please continue praying...

Please, Please Pray

I just received a call from my mom. She said that my step-dad probably would not make it through the day. Please, please pray for him and for my mom! I only know how hard this is for me, and I can't imagine how hard it is for her.

Busy Week

Whew! This is going to be one busy week. So busy, in fact, that I'm not even thinking in complete sentences. (Not good when one is trying to blog.) Here's a little peek at what's going on at our house this week:

Monday- Today (in case you didn't already know that). Too tired from the weekend to do much of anything.

Tuesday-Tyler has a dentist appointment in Kansas City. If y'all think of it, could you please say a little prayer for him...and me. I know for a fact he already has a cavity and since he is so young, I'm not sure how they are going to treat him. I could go into all the "maybe's" and "what if's", but I will wait until after the appointment. Let's just say I'm a little nervous. Oh yeah, and Keith will not be able to go to his appointment with me because he will be in a class all week.

Work night at church.

Wednesday- I have a doctor's appointment and then church that night.

Thursday- Sewing class, grocery store, make sure hubby's uniform and my dress are ready for Friday night.

Friday-Hubby's promotion ceremony/dinner. Semi-formal+8 mo. pregnant+first real military function=Interesting!

Saturday-Couples conference at church

Sunday-church

So, if you don't see me around for a few days, you'll know why. Hope y'all have a great week!

Firey Darts

Satan never seems to stop, does he? Here lately it seems as though he has been attacking us in almost every area you can think of. There is part of me that would love to spell out all the nastiness to anybody who would listen and have myself a big old pity party. But what good would that do? Instead I have decided to focus on the blessings I have in my life. Here, in no particular order, are some of the things I have to be thankful for. This is by no means an exhaustive list.

-Salvation
-A fantastic church (http://www.cbckn.org/ if your interested)
-A wonderful pastor and his wife
-Christian friends
-A wonderful, loving husband
-The most handsome little boy on the planet (Okay, okay. I know that's just my opinion, but still)
-A sweet little baby boy who will be here in just a few weeks
-A healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy
-No more morning sickness!!!
-A much larger than we need, beautiful, freshly-painted house (pictures coming soon)
-Friends who are always willing to lend a helping hand
-Being debt-free
-Having a husband who is handy and can fix things when they break ;-)
-Parking spots reserved for expectant mothers (although they are always taken)
-Having a military husband who hasn't been away from home since March 2006 (That must be some kind of record, right?)
-the Internet (I know there is a lot of evil out there, but it can also be a great tool)
-Thrift stores
-Good insurance
-Never going hungry
-Our tax battle with the state being over. We won! (I'll post about this one later)
-Nap time
-A break in the heat
-Gas prices are coming down. $3.42 today!

There, I feel better already!

Pregnancy Update

I just returned from my latest checkup. As usual, no news is good news I guess. My blood pressure was within normal range, although it was a little high for me. My weight has been holding steady for about the past month, which I am happy about. The baby is measuring just right and everything seems to be going fine. I am going to the doctor every two weeks now, which to me is a waste of gas for what they do. But, I'll try not to complain---much. I am almost 31 weeks pregnant now and I told Keith the other day I'm giving the baby 5 more weeks in there and then I'm serving his eviction notice. :o) I'm just kidding. I want him (or maybe her) to come whenever he is supposed to. It's just hard to breathe when your pregnant, carrying around a 2 year old, and the heat index is 110. But, it's a happy kind of miserable. LOL
