Woo-Hoo

We got a house on base! Praise the Lord!!!! I am soooooo relieved. We were told when we signed up for housing (only a week ago today) that there was a 6-8 month wait and we only rated a 2 bedroom because it's just us and Boo-Boo. Well, today housing called and offered us a 3 bedroom, single house. How great is that?? Especially since we have only seen 2 other single houses on the entire base. Basically all the housing here is duplexes. I am so excited. We just got back from looking at it. It's still a little small, but much bigger than what we had. The inspector also gave us permission to basically do anything we wanted to it, because it will be torn down after we move out. Yeah! I can paint!! Also, we have a huge yard and we can get fencing for free from self-help on base. I am so thankful this worked out. The guy said we could move in as soon as we get back from leave next week. Yeah!!

P.S.- Now that I have a spare bedroom I will be expecting lots of company!

Roadtrip

Hi everybody. Just thought I would post some pictures of our trip from Tennessee to Missouri.
We had to stop somewhere in Illinois at a Target to let Ty play. He was having toy withdrawl. You should have seen some of the looks we got. He was so happy to finally be out of his seat though.
The other pictures are from a Cracker Barrel in TN and a BBQ restaurant somewhere in IL.

Prayer Request

Please remember my Grandma in prayer if you will. About a year ago she was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and only given 3 months or so to live. Well needless to say, she far exceeded those expectations. However, she has now slipped into a coma and likely will not come out of it. She requested no feeding tubes or IV's. She hasn't had any food or water in about 5 days now...so it is just a matter or hours or days before she will be gone. She is saved (Praise the Lord!) and ready to go, but it will still be difficult for the family. My mom has been at her side round the clock for the past 8 months now. I know it will be especially difficult for her.

Please remember this if you will.

Love, Liz

UPDATE: My grandma passed away this morning (20 Dec). Thank you for all your prayers.

We Made It!

Well, we finally made it here to the great state of Missouri. We are about a week behind schedule getting here due to weather and some family issues. But we're here now. We got here yesterday around noon. Ty did pretty well with the trip, considering he hates riding in his car seat.

There was quite a bit of snow still left over from the big storm a week ago. It has been so long since I've even seen snow. I guess I'll get used to it soon though.

The base seems pretty small and the town outside base is extremely small...not even a red light! And it is way out in the boonies too-38 miles from the interstate. This is even smaller than what I'm used to. I think we'll like it though.

We are planning on going to Calvary Baptist Church here in Knob Noster tonight. We feel like that is where God is leading us. I can't wait to get back into church. Even though we went while we were on leave, it's just not the same as being in a "home" church.

Well, I never thought I would say this but I really do miss Okinawa. Parts of it, that is. I miss my friends, our church, an just feeling settled. Hopefully that will come soon.

My baby is waking up. Gotta run!
