Aquarium & Pineapple Park

Yesterday our power was off all day, so we decided to take the baby boy to the Pineapple Park and Aquarium in Nago. He wasn't really into the pineapple place but he seemed to enjoy watching the fish pretty well. That was probably the only opportunity we will have to take him anywhere special before we leave. The way it looks we only have 2 or 3 weekends left here...which will most likely be spent getting ready for our move.

Finally...

We're getting somewhere! We got our orders today and got our household shipments scheduled as well. We will be packing out on the 6th & 7th of November. Wow! It's kinda scary. That means I only have my furniture and my comfortable things for 9 more days. After that, we'll be living the nomadic, transient lifestyle for a while. Still no official date that we're leaving yet, but hopefully we'll have that next week. I guess all this moving stuff is going to become more real to us very soon.

I'm going to miss my little 700 sq. ft. Fred Flintstone-like house. Ha ha

Two Weeks Old Already

Life on the Rock

Thursday of this week we celebrated *I guess* 4 years of residency on this little island. It's hard to believe we have been here that long-although there have been some days that felt like they lasted for a year. Living here has been a real rollercoaster experience. The past few months have been very bittersweet...we are getting very excited about getting back to our families (especially now that we have the little man), but we have also enjoyed our time here more than any other time in the past. Funny how that works. But I try not to dwell on any emotion too long, because alas there is nothing I can do about it. :)

Here Piggy, Piggy, Piggy!

We took the baby boy to the doctor today for his 2 week well baby check-up. We were guessing beforehand that he would weigh right around 8 pounds. Well, he weighed 8 lbs 6 oz! That's a gain of a pound and an ounce in a week and a day!! My goodness. I guess I'm going to have to put him on a diet already. Just kidding of course.

I'm sooooooo glad that he's healthy and thriving. I used to think throughout most of my pregnancy that I wouldn't be able to rest and be at peace until he was in my arms and I could see that he was okay. Boy was I wrong! Now that he is here, it's a whole new set of worries and fears. But I am so thankful for him. He has been absolutely perfect so far (except for his extreme dislike of dairy products :P).
We are going to hopefully take him somewhere Japanese tomorrow for pictures. It will be nice to show him later on in life.

Enjoy the pictures.

One Week Old

I can't believe my baby is one week old already. I love him sooooooooo much! He is such a great baby (except for the 5 hour crying marathon Friday night). He is changing already-mostly just filling out his wrinkles. He is so beautiful.

We took him to church for the first time today. He was very good and of course the cutest baby there. :)

Keith will be going back to work this week. We are all a little sad about that. :(

He's Here

Samuel Tyler was born at 12:38 P.M. on Saturday, October 7th after 18 hours of labor. He weighed 7 lbs 10.4 oz and was 21 inches long. He is very healthy and pretty content...so far. :) We went into the hospital at 6 Friday night and were released Monday afternoon. The whole experience was wonderful! I could not have asked for better care for me and my little man.

Isn't he cute?
